This week’s guest is an amazing storyteller who is writing a story of her own. Carrie Severson is a dear friend who is not only an amazing entrepreneur and writer, but is also taking charge of her personal journey.
One of my favorite things about Carrie is her true passion for helping others. Her non-profit, the empowerment organization Severson Sisters, brings together teachers and social workers to better support our children, and her after school program, Super Girl, teaches young women to cultivate healthy relationships and subsequently better friendships. As someone who was picked on as a kid, Carrie used this experience to inspire her to help others and become a writer, so she “could change where the spotlight landed and put some focus on healthy women.”
Because Carrie has focused on her amazing career, she unfortunately still hasn’t found her “Prince Charming”, and doesn’t want to miss out on the experience of being a mom. At the age of 38, she decided that she would preserve her fertility and is currently going through the painful, expensive, and difficult process. Despite how difficult this process is, Carrie shares how the whole experience has shaped out, and if she would change her original decision had she known the extent of the process.
While Carrie concluded this podcast optimistically, she unfortunately faced a significant step back after the episode wrapped. However, Carrie remains determined to successfully complete the freezing of her eggs and create awareness for women in this same situation around the world.
I know you will enjoy Carrie’s heartwarming and inspiring journey as she continues to make a difference for women and girls around the world, while staying true to her personal goals.
