78 Dave Sanderson – Moments Matter

March 8, 2018

  • "When I got to the aisle, something changed for me."
  • "All those moments add up to one moment when something is going to happen. If you don’t do anything with that moment, God may never trust you again to do anything with it."
  • "Everyone who is listening is going to have their own personal plane crashes in their lives. You don't go through life unscathed but either you go in one direction or the other."

"People go through their own personal plane crashes in life, and they don’t know how to handle it."
~ Dave Sanderson

Survivor, published author and an amazing man to celebrate, my guest this week, Dave Sanderson, takes us through the story you didn’t hear of surviving the “Miracle on the Hudson,” US Airways Flight 1549 crash, and how a series of pivotal moments on the plane impacted the rest of his life.

Dave was part of a very visual miracle, all played out on our television screens. But what you did not know were the moments of decision that led him there. For example: the decision to take the earlier flight instead of the later one. “I was on that plane for a reason,” Dave says.

Listen to the terrifying details surrounding the crash, chilling rescue efforts, and the moment when Dave’s life skills kicked in and his mother’s words from beyond chimed in to save his life.

“Everyone who is listening is going to have their own personal plane crashes in their lives. You don’t go thru life unscathed, but either you go in one direction or the other.” Ultimately, Dave had to make one change in his life and everything started falling into place.

In addition to being a National Spokesperson for the American Red Cross, Dave speaks to audiences world-wide on how to “create their own flight plan,” using strategies to deal with traumatic incidents. Listen in as Dave describes his new worldview on people, choosing to make a difference and finding those moments that really matter.
